Software Resources in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Principal Engineer I - Senior DevOps Engineer for an immediate direct-hire role with a major corporation. The position is on-site four days per week, with Fridays remote, focusing on building secure, compliant, and reliable DevOps solutions.

You'll lead cross-domain DevOps initiatives, develop and govern the tooling platform, mentor engineers, and create Power BI dashboards while collaborating with Enterprise Architecture, QA, and IT leadership to

Qualifications

8+ years of related IT experience with 5+ years' DevOps platform support.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field; Masters/MBA preferred.
Hands-on experience administering enterprise development platforms such as Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise.
Experience building reusable AI components (agents, prompts, templates, or automation workflows).
Hands-on experience with Power BI.
Experience with SAST, DAST, and SCA tools (e.g., SonarQube, Invicti, GH Advanced Security).
Deep understanding of SDLC and DevSecOps best practices.
Strong Agile knowledge.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with Application Development & Infrastructure teams.
Leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience.
Experience with governance frameworks and regulatory audits.

Responsibilities

Define, implement, and support a target state DevOps tooling architecture for multiple delivery teams.
Establish governance and security controls for AI-assisted workflows and regulatory compliance.
Leverage AI agents and tooling to accelerate development, testing, and documentation.
Collaborate with Cloud Architecture to plan application and pipeline modernization with a cloud-first approach.
Set standards for SCM, CI/CD, test automation, security scanning, and container/PaaS delivery.
Mentor teams on secure coding, pipeline security, and modern DevOps practices.
Create and maintain Power BI DevOps dashboards and reports.
Engage with Enterprise Architecture and QA to align trends with standards.
Support audits and regulatory reviews with documentation and evidence.
Develop reusable solution designs for handoff to junior engineers; ensure design quality for scalability.
Review technical plans to ensure designs meet business objectives and volumes.
Build comprehensive performance dashboards to feed operational results for business partners.
Collaborate with architecture teams to finalize documentation and reference layouts.
