Job summary

Flr Federal Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly experienced engineering lead to join their team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing estimates and schedules, providing guidance to other engineers, and solving complex engineering problems. Candidates should possess a four-year engineering degree and 16 years of relevant experience.

This is an opportunity to work on critical projects that involve engineering complexity and require strong leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of Nuclear Design codes and project management is essential.

Job description

Responsibilities

Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts. Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts. Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting. Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of difficult engineering complexity. Serve as Supervising Lead providing guidance/supervision to other leads and function as mentor to less experienced engineers including performance appraisal input and counseling. Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.

Qualifications

Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job. Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner. Professional registration and membership in technical society (preferred). Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials. Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs. Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in a related engineering field (15) years industry experience with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience of Radiological Waste Handling equipment. Capital Project experience and knowledge of general project-based equipment engineering activities. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner. Professional registration and membership in relevant technical society - Preferred. Advanced knowledge of Nuclear Design codes/standards, commercial availability, and cost of materials.
