About The Role

The Vice President of Data Science will be a key leader in iCapital's AI team, focusing on designing, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning models to solve complex problems in finance and technology. This role involves leading a team of data scientists and engineers, developing AI-driven products, and collaborating across the firm to leverage AI for industry transformation and insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, training, testing, and deployment of machine learning models.
• Utilize Python in cloud environments with diverse data sources.
• Partner with internal teams to identify AI opportunities and translate needs into technical solutions.
• Analyze data using visualization, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Improve MLOps pipelines for efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure the robustness and scalability of models in production.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders and promote AI adoption.
• Continuously enhance AI knowledge through industry engagement and learning.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in machine learning model development and deployment.
• Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, economics, engineering, or related fields.
• Deep understanding of machine learning principles and mathematics.
• Experience managing high-performing engineering or data science teams.
• Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow or PyTorch, scikit-learn.
• Experience building APIs and infrastructure on AWS.
• Knowledge of Large Language Models and NLP techniques.
• Experience with software development best practices and database integration.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits

The salary range is $180,000 to $220,000, complemented by equity, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, healthcare, parental leave, and unlimited PTO. The role offers a hybrid work model, working in-office Monday-Thursday and remotely on Fridays.
