Themis Insight is hiring a Principal Data Scientist to work in the Fort Meade, MD vicinity. The role focuses on transforming large, complex NSA/CSS data into actionable analytics through advanced data science, ML, and statistical methods.

A TS/SCI with Polygraph is required as part of the security clearance. Candidates should have deep expertise across mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and data management, with a track record in communicating complex findings to non-technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of relevant experience or Associate’s degree with 17 years of relevant experience.
• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field; advanced math or CS coursework required.
• Experience in designing/implementing ML, data science, and analytics algorithms; programming in Python and at least one mid-level language (e.g., C).

Responsibilities

• Devise strategies to extract meaning from large datasets using mathematical, statistical, CS methods.
• Communicate principled conclusions from data to non-technical audiences.
• Translate mission needs into technical requirements and assess competing technical solutions.
