Principal Data Scientist - Generative AI, Machine Learning, Python, R - Remote
This role involves overseeing data science projects, managing a team, and aligning data initiatives with business goals. The candidate will lead the development and implementation of data models, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay updated on industry trends. Ensuring ethical data use and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are essential. The role also includes leading initiatives on model governance and operations to meet regulatory and security standards. Job Duties
- Research and stay current with advancements in AI and machine learning to improve existing models and develop new methodologies.
- Deploy AI models into production, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
- Lead pilot projects to test new AI technologies within the organization.
- Extract insights from complex datasets, identify patterns, and interpret data to inform strategic decisions.
- Design, develop, and train machine learning models using various algorithms and techniques.
- Develop and implement agentic workflows utilizing AI agents for autonomous tasks.
- Employ retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns to enhance language model performance.
- Fine-tune pre-trained models for specific tasks and datasets.
- Perform data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure high-quality inputs for modeling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.
- Create documentation and report findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists.
- Partner with business teams to develop ML models that improve key metrics such as Star ratings and care gap reduction.
- Present analytical insights to diverse audiences and manage analytical project delivery.
- Identify data and technology solutions in response to changing business needs.
- Utilize a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from industry trends.
Job Qualifications
Required Education: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
Required Experience/Skills:
- 10+ years of experience as a data scientist, preferably in healthcare but open to other industries.
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Familiarity with relational databases and SDLC concepts.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong programming skills in Python and R; experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.
- Understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience with designing agentic workflows and RAG techniques.
- Proven experience in model fine-tuning.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Analytical and innovative problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Education
PHD or additional experience.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure AI Studio).
- Familiarity with NLP and computer vision techniques.
