Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal Engineer - Data Science to join the high-visibility Impact Analytics team within the Transformation Command Center. You will operate as an independent IC, performing deep data manipulation, advanced statistical modeling, and production-grade ML solutions while leading analytical initiatives across the business.

Qualifications

• Advanced, independent coding in Python and SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Proven track record building and deploying ML models and forecasting solutions.
• Strong experience with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, Grafana.
• Ability to manage technical project lifecycles and present findings to management.
• Six or more years of relevant experience required, including military experience.
• Degree in data science, CS, statistics, engineering, or related field, or 4+ years experience.

Responsibilities

• Query, clean, merge, and manipulate large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Design, validate, and deploy supervised/unsupervised ML models and forecasts.
• Lead analytics projects end-to-end from scoping to executive presentation.
• Develop dashboards and visual reports translating model outputs into executive metrics.
• Partner with stakeholders across Consumer, Network, and Strategy to translate challenges into workflows.
• Ensure model governance and incorporate state-of-the-art ML/forecasting methods.
