Job summary

Alignment Health is seeking a Principal, Data Engineer to be the technical authority for our data platform engineering efforts. You will set standards, design scalable pipelines, and collaborate with architects, AI/ML engineers, and compliance teams across Medicare Advantage data ecosystems.

The role drives improvements in data quality, pipeline performance, and platform scalability while mentoring engineers and shaping the multi-year roadmap. HIPAA and CMS reporting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive data engineering experience in large-scale environments.
• Experience designing and governing enterprise data platforms with cloud and open-source tools.
• Healthcare data, HIPAA, CMS reporting, or risk adjustment domain familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Define platform engineering standards and guardrails for data systems.
• Lead scalable data pipelines across cloud-based environments and data domains.
• Mentor engineers, foster architecture reviews, and drive cross-functional alignment.
