Job summary

J2 Health in New York is searching for a Senior/Principal data leader to own J2's provider-data recommendation engine, turning messy provider data into trustworthy, customer-facing products.

You’ll be hands-on from day one, set vision for a source-of-truth model, and later scale a team as the function grows. The role blends product judgment with data engineering and collaboration with a PM partner to deliver real customer value.

Qualifications

• Senior / principal level with 5–7 years of startup data product experience.
• Shipping data products used by customers, not internal dashboards.
• Experience building and leading data product teams.
• Strong Python, dbt, Postgres, and LLM frameworks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end provider-data recommendation engine.
• Distill a source-of-truth dataset from multiple sources.
• Apply LLMs to ambiguous data-judgment problems.
• Ship data products and iterate based on customer value.
• Build and scale the function with a team over time.
