Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. is seeking a Principal Data Governance Specialist with 8+ years of experience to implement enterprise-wide governance, stewardship, quality, and compliance practices.

The role collaborates with IT and business teams to ensure trusted, secure, and well-defined data aligned to measurable business outcomes. The candidate will lead data ownership, metadata, lifecycle management, and governance controls across multiple domains, supporting regulatory and cybersecurity

Formación

• Minimum 8 years of experience in data governance, data management, information management, or related disciplines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex data governance initiatives and working across technical and business teams.
• Proven experience implementing enterprise data governance capabilities at scale.
• Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, master data, and stewardship practices.
• Master’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Implement and operationalize the enterprise data governance framework, operating model, and governance roadmap established by the Senior Manager, Data Governance & Value Realization.
• Establish and implement policies, standards, and processes for data quality, stewardship, ownership, metadata, and lifecycle management.
• Define and operationalize data ownership and stewardship responsibilities across business domains.
• Implement and support enterprise data quality initiatives, including monitoring, remediation, and issue management processes.
• Implement and administer data cataloging, metadata management, classification, lineage, and business glossary capabilities.
• Implement governance controls supporting regulatory, contractual, and cybersecurity requirements including ITAR, NIST, and applicable data protection standards.
• Partner with Architecture, Engineering, Analytics, and AI teams to embed governance standards into enterprise solutions.
• Establish governance metrics and reporting to monitor adoption, compliance, and business value.
• Support measurable value realization for data initiatives through adoption tracking, ROI analysis, and operational impact measurement.
• Facilitate governance councils, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional alignment.
• Support change management and organizational adoption of governance practices.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and subject-matter expertise to governance and data stewardship resources as the function matures.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Principal Data Governance Specialist with at least 8 years of experience in data governance, data management, information management, or related disciplines . The candidate will be responsible for implementing and operationalizing enterprise-wide data governance, stewardship, quality, compliance, and value realization practices across Bollinger Shipyards. This role ensures enterprise data is trusted, secure, consistently defined, and aligned to measurable business outcomes. The position partners across IT and business functions to implement practical governance processes that support operational efficiency, compliance obligations, analytics enablement, and enterprise decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 8 years of experience in data governance, data management, information management, or related disciplines
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrated experience leading complex data governance initiatives and working across technical and business teams
• Proven experience implementing enterprise data governance capabilities at scale
• Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, master data, and stewardship practices
• Master’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred

SKILLS

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, defense, or highly regulated environments
• Experience with data catalog and governance platforms, including Microsoft Purview or comparable technologies
• Familiarity with Azure data and analytics ecosystems
• Experience measuring ROI and operational impact of technology or data initiatives
• Relevant governance or data management certifications
