Job summary

Vivanti is seeking a Principal Consultant to lead data engagements and mentor a team of technologists. You will drive client delivery excellence, expand Vivanti’s footprint, and contribute to internal IP across cloud and data platforms.

Ideal candidates bring 8–15 years of data engineering experience, strong cloud certifications, and a track record of delivering complex data projects using SQL, Python, and modern ETL/ELT tooling.

Qualifications

  • 8–15 years hands-on data engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to lead data engagements and mentor teams.
  • Strong cloud platform expertise (AWS/Azure/GCP) and analytics tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop data engineering teams to deliver client projects.
  • Own client delivery outcomes and ensure timely, quality results.
  • Promote Vivanti's brand and manage vendor relationships.
  • Drive financial and commercial success of engagements.
  • Develop internal IP and contribute to scalable data solutions.
  • Support recruitment and professional development of staff.
  • Oversee timesheets, governance meetings, and project administration.

Role Summary

As a Principal Consultant, you are an organizational leader whose mission is to make Vivanti the "Partner of Choice" for clients and the "Employer of Choice" for staff. You drive the overarching commercial success of data engagements, oversee complex client relationships, and foster the career growth of the consultants under your guidance.

What You'll Do
  • Create a cohesive, engaged team environment driven by Vivanti’s ICARE values (Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence).
  • Support individual career desires, provide actionable feedback during review processes, and assist with the professional development of your team.
  • Take overarching accountability for client delivery excellence, ensuring engagements consistently meet planned commercial outcomes.
  • Act as a strong brand ambassador, seeking opportunities to promote Vivanti across pillars and proactively mitigating risks to the brand.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Vivanti’s footprint leveraging vendor relationships and deep knowledge of the client’s business model.
  • Drive the financial and commercial success of projects, contribute to internal IP (solutions/frameworks), and support Vivanti's recruitment processes.
  • Ensure timeliness in finance/P&C administration (timesheets, leave, governance meetings).
What We’re Looking For

We are seeking proactive problem-solvers with strong critical thinking skills and a passion for data engineering. Whether you have prior technical experience or a strong foundational analytical background, we value curiosity, adaptability, and a drive to learn.

  • Proactive mindset with the drive to take ownership of data engineering deliverables independently.
  • Possess relevant cloud/data certifications, such as SnowPro Core, Google Cloud Digital Leader, MS Azure Fundamentals, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, along with a commitment to technical enablement and skill sharing.
  • Ability to build holistic business domain knowledge and communicate technical solutions to peers and clients.
  • Strong personal brand awareness and an interest in supporting Vivanti's commercial enablement and team success.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, Python, AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, GIt, CI/CD, ML/AI, Spark, Airflow, ETL/ELT.
  • 8-15 years of hands-on experience in data engineering.
