Netflix seeks an experienced U.S.-based attorney to join its internal general litigation team as Principal Counsel, Litigation. The role involves handling litigation matters and providing pre‑litigation counseling on a wide variety of topics. The general litigation team advises on all litigation facing the company except for patent and employment litigation – including contracts, copyright, trademark, defamation, right of publicity, real estate, bankruptcy, subpoenas, personal injury and more.
The position is primarily focused on litigation in the U.S. and Canada, though issues often cross borders and will require collaboration with partners from around the world. The role involves close and ongoing collaboration with legal and business executives across the company, including series and film production; licensing and distribution; consumer products and merchandising; product; live events; corporate; real estate; games and advertising.
The compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; the range for this role is $465,000.00 – $650,000.00. Compensation can be allocated between salary and stock options. Netflix employs market indicators and considers the specific job family, background, skills and experience to determine top‑of‑market compensation.
