Job summary

Amazon seeks an experienced Corporate Development Leader to generate, manage, and execute mergers, acquisitions, minority investments and strategic partnerships across robotics, AI, logistics and supply chain. The role partners with WW Operations and Robotics at the most senior levels.

The candidate will conduct industry research, due diligence, valuation analyses, term sheets and negotiations, and drive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above
  • Experience with financial analysis and modeling
  • 7+ years of experience in technology corporate development, private equity, investment banking and/or venture capital
  • Experience creating and analyzing M&A and investment processes for a wide variety of transactions
  • History of successfully completing high-level, end-to-end negotiations
  • Very strong analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities supporting Amazon's strategic priorities through senior leaders, bankers, VCs and pipeline generation
  • Partner with Amazon businesses to evaluate expansion and growth opportunities
  • Evaluate benefits of acquisitions, investments and partnerships and build internal/external consensus
  • Act as a subject matter expert on valuation and deal structuring
  • Lead all pre-transaction due diligence efforts
  • Evaluate synergy opportunities and risks in potential transactions
  • Negotiate key legal documents and bring transactions to finish line
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, legal, finance, tax, accounting and senior management to execute transactions

The selected candidate will act as a primary contact in supporting Amazon business units and senior leadership through industry research, strategy development, due diligence, valuation analyses, deal structuring, term sheet and contract negotiations, and internal and external relationship building.

This position is located in Boston, MA. Consideration will be given to locations in San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA in select cases.

Corporate Development is a small, collaborative team that values authentic individuals who think creatively and proactively seek opportunities to advance Amazon’s growth through inorganic efforts, including mergers, acquisitions, investments, and partnerships. The team sits at the intersection of Amazon’s strategy and the broader technology and innovation ecosystem, partnering closely with business leaders to analyze markets, technologies, and companies that accelerate Amazon’s mission and long-term growth. Bringing together expertise in strategy, M&A, and integration, the team leads the end-to-end process of sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and integrating acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships across Amazon’s businesses.

Basic Qualifications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
