Job summary

SRK Consulting seeks a Principal Consultant (Resource Geology) to lead geological modeling and advisory work for North American and international mining and exploration projects. This remote role reports to SRK’s Geology department and involves building mineralization models, QA/QC of geological databases, and contributing to technical studies and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology or mining engineering required.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in resource geology and mining.
• Experience with precious metals and base metals.
• Open pit and underground operations experience.
• Experience with drilling, database validation and management, QA/QC, sampling protocol, and analytical techniques.
• Registered professional status or eligibility for registration.
• Qualified Person under SEC, CIM or JORC for public reporting.

Responsibilities

• Consult on projects for North American and international clients.

• Analyze and validate geological databases with QA/QC.
• Contribute to technical studies (exploration, PEA/feasibility).
• Contribute to technical reports (S-K 1300, NI43-101, JORC).

Key Responsibilities

• Consult on projects for North American and international exploration and mining clients.
• Build geological and mineralization models, using commercial software packages such as Leapfrog.
• Analyze and validate geological databases, including QA/QC skills.
• Provide input into technical studies (e.g., exploration, initial assessment, pre-feasibility and feasibility).
• Contribute to technical reports (S-K 1300, NI43-101, JORC).
• Assist in high-level assessments during due diligence/independent reporting projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in geology or mining engineering
• A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in resource geology and mining, including:
  • Extensive experience in precious metals and base metals
  • Experience in both open pit and underground operations
  • Experience with drilling, database validation and management, QA/QC, sampling protocol, and analytical techniques;
• Registered professional status or eligibility for registration in a professional organization
• Qualified Person as recognized by the SEC, Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM) or Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC), to prepare technical documentation for public reporting
