Job Description:

HPE Aruba Networking is the enterprise Edge division of HPE, known as the biggest “small” company. We think like a big company and act like a startup. We are at the cusp of breaking out in our markets, and you have the opportunity to lead this change.

The Competitive Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) plays a vital role within the Go-To-Market/Business Operations team, providing competitive analysis, intelligence, and comparisons of HPE Aruba Networking with other industry vendors. TMEs are technical subject matter experts collaborating with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success teams. They provide deep-dive competitive analysis, presentations, and technical content to sellers and partners.

The successful candidate will communicate HPE Aruba Networking’s competitive advantages effectively, focusing on customer use cases, and capture valuable product feedback.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with technical experts across HPE Aruba Networking products, including data center and L2/L3 switching protocols (STP, QoS, BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, etc.) and other networking services relevant to data center deployments.
2. Set up network topologies and solutions of varying complexities, comparing vendor solutions in lab environments.
3. Present competitive sessions at HPE Aruba Networking events and webinars for field, partner, and R&D engineers.
4. Create technical collateral, including testing reports, competitive analysis, third-party testing, sales collateral, and updates.
5. Manage and maintain lab equipment and inventory.

Required Skills:

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; hands-on experience building customer networks can substitute a non-technical degree.
• 10+ years of experience in networking.
• Deep understanding of protocols such as MP-BGP, BGP, IS-IS, EVPN, VxLAN, OSPF, Multicast, MPLS, STP, VLANs, IPv4, IPv6.
• Strong knowledge of Data Center technologies like Fabric/Spine architecture, EVPN-VXLAN Fabric, DCI, multi-tier network design, IP Fabric, storage networking.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort with public speaking.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable language.

Preferred Skills:

• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, HPE ANW Certified Expert.
• Knowledge of multiple network operating systems (Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
• Experience with Ixia traffic generation tools.
• Lab management experience with console servers, VM infrastructure, storage arrays, server/hypervisor management (Proxmox, MS Hyper-V, KVM).
