Principal Cloud Network Engineer (Finance)

About You:

You bring over 15 years of professional experience as a Cloud Network Engineer or similar role, with extensive expertise in Google Cloud Platform technologies. Your deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure—including VPCs, ACLs, GKE, and GCE—enables you to design and operate scalable distributed systems. You excel in Kubernetes, with hands-on experience in GKE, Helm, and K8S technologies. Your proficiency in Linux, Git, Terraform, and scripting languages like Python or Bash supports your ability to create robust, automated solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment, with strong problem-solving and communication skills. Your understanding of cloud security principles, cloud migration, and application modernization makes you an invaluable asset.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and manage cloud infrastructure systems using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and GCP Networking technologies.
2. Collaborate with application DevOps and development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with platform infrastructure.
3. Guide application teams in building, testing, deploying, and running cloud-native applications, ensuring adherence to best practices.
4. Develop automated processes and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
5. Implement and maintain security measures to uphold compliance and platform integrity.
6. Optimize and monitor platform performance, addressing issues proactively.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve platform challenges collaboratively with support teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of professional experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps, or similar role.
• Extensive experience with GCP technologies.
• Preferred Cloud Knowledge: VPCs, ACLs, GKE, GCE.
• Preferred K8S Technologies: GKE, Helm, K8S Controllers, K8S Operators.
• Preferred Network Technologies: VPC, DNS, Interconnects, PSC, CloudArmor, Firewalls, VPN, Load Balancing, Network Observability & Monitoring, Network Security.
• Preferred Security Technologies: VPC SC, IAM.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and running distributed systems at scale.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, Helm, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cloud security principles.
• Proficient with Linux, Git, Terraform, and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Additional Skills: Ability to design, review, develop, and operate systems at scale; strong troubleshooting skills; excellent communication; ability to work asynchronously and juggle multiple tasks.
• Nice to Have: Cloud migration and application modernization experience.
