We're seeking an experienced professional in architecting data solutions within the media & entertainment landscape. The ideal candidate will simplify how we measure and understand our customers' needs, driving better business decisions and customer experiences. You will collaborate with engineering teams to design and build secure, cost-effective, and high-performing cloud solutions, and partner across the company to innovate and deliver cutting-edge cloud services and platforms. Your role includes creating scalable, reliable, and user-friendly private cloud offerings, mentoring junior engineers, and setting standards for business and technology excellence.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with application and data teams to design data solutions that support transactional, analytical, and data science needs.
• Propose solutions focusing on cost optimization, reducing data hops, high availability, performance, and strategic growth to support a data-driven organization.
• Ensure solutions comply with Comcast policies on data privacy and security.
• Design and manage scalable data models and semantic layers.
• Build prototypes and publish design patterns for organizational use.
• Guide cloud adoption and migration techniques.
• Work with data governance teams to identify and monitor critical data elements.
• Coordinate with partners like AWS, Databricks, Snowflake to meet Effectv's evolving needs.
• Lead architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class cloud solutions.
• Gather requirements from stakeholders and analyze options for build vs. buy decisions.
• Identify gaps in technology and skills for solution implementation.
• Support infrastructure deployment planning with data center and network engineering teams.
• Promote adherence to industry and company technology standards.
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable data architecture roadmaps.
• Mentor and lead data engineers and architects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience in media & entertainment measurement and attribution is preferred.
• Proficiency in cloud data architecture, including AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Event Hub, Databricks, and storage/processing solutions like Redshift, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, Snowflake; experience with 3rd party integrations such as Salesforce, D365.
• Knowledge of modern cloud data architectures on AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Experience building dimensional data models and semantic layers, with tools like AtScale, Cube.dev preferred.
• Skilled in data modeling for OLTP, OLAP, streaming formats.
• Leadership in creating cloud data migration, integration, and warehouse plans, including success metrics and enterprise data system assessments.
• Understanding of Master and Reference Data Management strategies.
• Strong grasp of data governance practices.
• Experience designing data solutions spanning ingestion, storage, processing, virtualization, and visualization.
• Ability to implement high availability, scalable architectures supporting analytics, AI, and ML.
• Ability to produce detailed documentation of data architecture and flows.
• Familiarity with message-driven architectures for decoupled applications.
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or Databricks are a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
