Job summary

Metro Associates in San Diego, CA is seeking a Principal Engineering Designer to advance multidisciplinary land development projects. You will develop grading plans, process subdivision maps, and ensure compliance with codes through agency procedures.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering with several years of land development experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D. California experience is preferred, with EIT and a path to CA PE license within 12 months.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering plus four years of land development experience, or equivalent eight years.
Experience taking grading plans from concept through final plans and processing subdivision/land development documents.
AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience required.
Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures; California experience preferred.
EIT certification and ability to obtain a California PE license within 12 months of hire are preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop grading plans from conceptual design through final documentation.
Prepare and process subdivision and land development maps and plans.
Perform road design, drainage, and earthwork calculations.
Apply jurisdictional codes, standards, and agency procedures throughout project delivery.
