Job summary

iHerb is seeking a Principal Engineer – Catalog to own the end‑to‑end technical strategy for the product catalog platform, a critical system that shapes the business. You will set service boundaries, data models, and full‑stack engineering standards, coordinating across PM, data science, security, and infrastructure to drive modernization.

You will write production code, define architectural decisions, and mentor senior engineers while shaping AI‑driven development practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of software engineering experience at senior/lead levels.
• Experience designing data models and APIs for high‑volume catalog/e‑commerce systems.
• Experience leading cross‑functional architecture standards and roadmaps.
• Strong emphasis on code quality, observability, CI/CD, and velocity.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the catalog platform architecture across the stack.
• Lead catalog modernization, data models, and API contracts.
• Hands‑on contributor: write production code and validate architecture.
• Mentor engineers, enforce standards, and drive architecture reviews.
• Collaborate with product, data science, security, and infrastructure teams.
• Advance iHerb's AI‑driven SDLC golden path and automation patterns.
