Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Production Tech 2 in Colorado to partner with Manufacturing and Quality ensuring well-finished products meeting customer standards.

You will report to the Manufacturing/Operations Supervisor and contribute to testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies. Responsibilities include developing test specs from blueprints, performing final system tests, and preparing technical reports summarizing findings.

• Associate degree or technical training required.
• 1+ year related experience.
• Ability to read drawings and use measurement instruments.

Responsibilities

Job description

A Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Production Tech 2 at MKS Instruments, Inc., you will partner with Manufacturing and Quality to ensure a well finished product to meet customer standards. In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing/Operations Supervisor.

You Will Make an Impact by:

• Responsible for the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
• Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams
• Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems
• May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing
• Requires soldering skills and possibly mechanical aptitude skills
• As required, prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems
• May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment

Required Skills:

• Associate degree, military technical training or their equivalent vocational training is required
• 1+ year of related experience
• May require experience in testing digital and/or analog systems
• Ability to read drawings and use measurement instruments

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 pounds
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time
• Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level
• Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level
• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay Range: $18.89 - 31.49 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
• Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
