A Day in the Life

The Principal Biologist position is based in Oakland, California. Responsibilities include:

• Leading environmental compliance projects
• Collaborating with clients and team members to solve problems
• Overseeing proposals and business development
• Mentoring staff
• Maintaining confidentiality
• Following safety protocols and OSHA regulations
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives
• Staying current with industry trends
• Performing additional duties as assigned

Your Expertise and Skills

Candidates should have:

• A relevant degree in environmental science
• At least 15 years of consulting or relevant environmental experience
• Experience managing CEQA processes for complex projects
• Knowledge of California natural resources and regulatory permitting (USACE, USFWS, NMFS, CDFW, RWQCB)
• Proven success in proposal development
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Leadership experience and ability to work collaboratively
• Independence, initiative, and responsibility
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software (AutoCAD, ArcGIS)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Physical ability to work in various environments and terrains
• Willingness to travel locally
