Job description

About The Role

Shape and build the next generation of shared cloud capabilities for the Digital Energy software portfolio. This role connects and rationalizes cloud capabilities across organizational and product boundaries.

This position requires more than architectural guidance. The successful candidate will create working platforms, reference implementations, deployment patterns, and production-quality software.

What You Will Do
  • Define the Azure architecture for shared DE Software cloud and AI capabilities.
  • Develop reusable platform services, architectural patterns, and reference implementations.
  • Identify opportunities for platform convergence and reuse across BDP, Building Automation, and Digital Energy teams.
  • Translate strategic architectural direction into working software and deployable infrastructure.
  • Design secure, resilient, observable, scalable, and cost-effective Azure solutions.
  • Establish patterns for identity, networking, data, integration, APIs, messaging, storage, compute, and multitenancy.
  • Design cloud-to-edge architectures for building and energy-management applications.
  • Enable AI workloads using appropriate Azure services, containers, Kubernetes, model endpoints, data platforms, and security controls.
  • Create infrastructure-as-code modules, automated deployment pipelines, and operational standards.
  • Build prototypes and production foundations rather than limiting the role to diagrams or review boards.
  • Evaluate tradeoffs involving security, performance, reliability, data sovereignty, latency, maintainability, and cost.
  • Mentor architects and developers across the global organization.
What Will Help You Succeed
  • Extensive experience architecting and building production solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on software engineering and cloud platform experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven design, and microservices.
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service, containers, networking, identity, security, storage, messaging, monitoring, and automation.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using Bicep, Terraform, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience designing CI/CD and DevSecOps processes.
  • Strong understanding of reliability, availability, disaster recovery, observability, and cloud cost management.
  • Ability to move fluidly between executive-level architecture discussions and hands‑on engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Azure AI services, Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Foundry, model hosting, or AI platform engineering.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud and edge computing.
  • Experience with IoT platforms, smart buildings, building management systems, energy management, or industrial systems.
  • Experience designing SaaS platforms and multitenant architectures.
  • Experience with regulated or security-sensitive environments.
  • Experience modernizing large, established software portfolios.
  • Experience creating internal developer platforms or reusable cloud foundations.
Candidate Profile
  • A builder first and an architect second.
  • Can demonstrate systems personally helped implement.
  • Works effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Uses prototypes and evidence to resolve architectural uncertainty.
  • Balances strategic platform thinking with urgent product needs.
  • Understands both cloud services and the software that runs on them.
  • Challenges existing assumptions constructively.
What Success Looks Like
  • Deliver an aligned Azure reference architecture for DE Software.
  • Implement shared Azure building blocks adopted by product teams.
  • Deliver a working cloud or AI platform foundation, not only an architectural proposal.
  • Improve deployment consistency, security, observability, or development velocity.
  • Demonstrate reuse across BDP, Building Automation, and Digital Energy.
  • Reduce unnecessary duplication among cloud implementations.

You will join a highly collaborative, global environment focused on turning emerging technologies into practical software capabilities. These positions require hands‑on contributors who can create working implementations, validate ideas through engineering, and partner effectively across product, architecture, domain, and development teams.
