Xcel Energy is seeking a senior corporate lawyer to support its Commercial Projects team in a wide range of renewable energy and large-load transactions. You will draft and negotiate electric service agreements, power purchase agreements, and related documents while providing strategic, cross-functional legal counsel.

Ideal candidates have 6–10 years in corporate law, a JD from an ABA-accredited school, and licensure in Minnesota or Colorado, with the ability to reciprocity license.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of practice in corporate law or equivalent legal experience.
• Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills.
• Licensed to practice law in Minnesota or Colorado, or able to obtain via reciprocity.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and counsel on complex legal, business, and strategic matters.
• Serve as transactional counsel for renewable energy and large load/data center projects.
• Draft and negotiate transactional documents, including energy agreements and MSAs.
• Partner cross-functionally to execute transactions aligned with company strategy.

This position focuses on renewal energy projects, electric service agreements, power purchase agreements, emerging technology initiatives, and works cross-functionally to structure, negotiate, and execute complex transactions.
