Job summary

Barracuda Networks Inc. is seeking a Principal Application Security Engineer to shape and lead our AppSec program. You will mentor teammates and influence security strategy across product teams.

You will drive proactive guardrails, perform risk-based threat modeling, and partner with engineering leaders to embed security into the development lifecycle. You will own long-term initiatives, manage complex multi-stakeholder programs, and advocate secure-by-design practices across Barracuda's product

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years in product-focused AppSec.
• Hands-on experience across AppSec, ProdSec, and Cloud.
• Experience building AppSec/ProdSec programs in a product environment.
• Proven ownership of long-term initiatives (year+).
• Proficient in Threat Modeling; risk discussions across tech stacks.
• Hands-on security assessment experience: pen-tests & code reviews.
• Programming in at least two languages (TS/JS, Python, Java, etc.).
• Strong communication and presentation skills with developers.

Responsibilities

• Shape, grow, and lead Barracuda's Application Security program.
• Mentor team members and influence security direction.
• Define and execute initiatives across a complex multi-stakeholder environment.
• Lead design reviews and security trainings; drive risk-based discussions.
