Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is hiring an ETS Principal Engineer to design, modernize, and scale API and integration capabilities within OCI and enterprise core banking. The role partners with architecture, security, and operations to build secure, scalable services and automated pipelines.

The ideal candidate brings deep API engineering expertise, cloud-native patterns, and strong DevOps practices to support millions of member interactions and the core banking transformation roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 15+ years in software/API/Cloud/integration disciplines.
• Experience with API management platforms (OCI API Gateway, MuleSoft, etc).
• Hands-on with RESTful APIs, lifecycle management, governance, security.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support enterprise API and integration solutions.
• Define API engineering standards and reusable frameworks.
• Lead design/implementation of OCI-based integration solutions.
• Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines for API and integration services.
• Develop automated testing using Postman and related frameworks.
• Automate operations with Python/PowerShell.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and operations teams.
• Drive DevSecOps practices and code quality/security controls.
• Lead investigations of complex production issues.
• Establish monitoring and observability for platforms.
• Mentor engineering teams and maintain runbooks.
