Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a Principal Engineer to provide enterprise-level technical leadership for the Core Banking Modernization program. The role focuses on dual-core coexistence of on-premises and cloud platforms and will collaborate with business, product, architecture, engineering, and transformation teams to deliver scalable, secure banking solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent.
• 15+ years of software engineering, solution architecture, and enterprise technology experience in Core Banking.
• Advanced knowledge of Core Banking platforms (e.g. Fiserv, FIS).
• Experience in migrations from mainframe to SaaS, and in modernization programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal technical authority for dual-core coexistence across banking platforms.
• Define design for Core Banking modernization program’s coexistence model and data migration strategy.
• Define full transaction lifecycle from origin to General Ledger outcomes.
