Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Principal Software Engineer / Architect – AI, CoCounsel Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) to design, build, and deliver production AI solutions for complex customer environments.

This highly technical, hands-on individual contributor role works directly with customers, product teams, and engineers to architect solutions and contribute production code, translating learnings into scalable capabilities for the CoCounsel platform.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with principal/architect-level leadership.
• Experience delivering complex production software systems.
• Hands-on coding and reviewing production code.
• Significant AI/ML or LLM experience in production.
• Ability to architect AI solutions integrated with enterprise infra.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical and customer engagements from discovery to production.
• Architect, build, and deploy production AI solutions in enterprise environments.
• Write production code and review work of senior engineers.
• Provide direction on AI, architecture, security, and deployment decisions.
• Collaborate with customers to understand tech environments and requirements.
• Mentor engineers and influence product capabilities across teams.
