Job summary

LIMRA and LOMA seek a Principal Software Developer to lead AI-enabled application development. You will work with business and tech teams to design, prototyp e, implement, and sustain AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable value to members and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes hands-on software engineering, collaboration with product and security teams, and guiding AI initiatives from concept to production in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions in production.
• 5+ years with engineering tools and languages (Git, DevOps, VSCode; C#, Python, JavaScript) and cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
• 4+ years developing applications using large language models and generative AI.
• 4+ years designing and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• 4+ years experience with cloud-based AI platforms such as Azure AI Foundry, Bedrock, or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and product teams to implement best-in-class applications.
• Identify opportunities where AI can improve processes, productivity, and member-facing capabilities.
• Translate business challenges into practical AI-enabled solutions across the lifecycle.
• Work directly with stakeholders to define problems and guide ideas to production.
