Job summary

Kadence is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape the AI platform powering enterprise-grade, AI-driven solutions. You will lead backend and AI infrastructure for scalable, secure deployments, and partner with AI/ML teams to translate cutting-edge models into reliable products.

You will guide architecture choices, drive production readiness, and mentor senior engineers across the organization, while operating in a hybrid arrangement with opportunities at multiple North American locations,

Qualifications

• Experience building production-grade AI platforms.
• Experience with LLMs, agentic workflows, and retrieval systems.
• Strong backend software engineering skills.
• Experience leading complex engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for backend and AI platform architecture.
• Design and build production systems for high-volume AI interactions.
• Lead end-to-end engineering initiatives from architecture to rollout.
• Build agentic workflows with multi-step reasoning and tool calls.
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams to translate model capabilities into products.
• Design scalable retrieval and data systems including vector databases.
• Establish testing, observability, and safe deployment practices.
• Architect secure identity and access patterns for AI apps.
• Collaborate across teams to meet data protection and compliance standards.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence engineering standards.
