Job summary

True Anomaly is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer, AI & Infrastructure, to lead the AI platform strategy and drive enterprise-wide infrastructure decisions. You will guide AI provider selection, establish CI/CD standards, and mentor engineers across platform teams in a fast-paced defense technology environment.

You’ll work with senior leaders to shape roadmaps, ensure security and compliance, and push the boundaries of agentic engineering while enabling data, AI, and infrastructure to scale

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering experience with a track record of setting technical direction across multiple teams or domains.
• Deep expertise in AI platforms and agentic engineering, paired with strong cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, developer experience, and compute.
• Experience taking ambiguous, high-stakes problems from zero to a delivered system, including framing the problem when requirements are undefined.
• Strong background in building, deploying, and operating production systems on cloud; understanding SDLC.
• Hands-on experience with large language model APIs, prompt engineering, tool use, RAG, and agent frameworks (e.g. CrewAI, Pydantic AI).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), CI/CD standards, developer platforms, and cloud networking/identity.
• Experience deploying production workloads across AWS/Azure/GCP and related security foundations.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools to deliver production code and automate routine work.
• Ability to work across AI platforms, infrastructure, app development, and platform architecture and align teams.
• Strong communication and ability to influence executives on technical direction.
• Self-directed with high autonomy in fast-paced environment.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Help shape the technical vision and multi-quarter roadmap for AI and platform infrastructure, partnering with leadership to steer company systems for space superiority.
• Parachute into the hardest technical problems, designing and delivering platforms and systems to solve them.
• Set high-level design and architecture direction across AI, infrastructure, and data with Staff engineers.
• Lead DevOps, CI/CD, developer experience, and compute infrastructure decisions and patterns.
• Guide evaluation and selection of AI providers and tooling, balancing capabilities, compliance, and speed to value.
• Establish standards and paved-road patterns for platform engineering adoption across teams.
• Advise on applying AI across the enterprise and set the vision for AI usage.
• Ensure deployments meet government security/compliance requirements across data classifications.
• Mentor engineers, raise engineering bar, and multiply impact across teams.
• Stay current with AI landscape and recommend new models/tools to accelerate the company.
