Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal Engineer - AI/ML Engineering to own architecture, engineering standards, and AI strategy for a high-scale device-telemetry analytics platform across 5G Home and Fios. You will define the lakehouse-to-dashboard stack, embed LLMs for value, and set responsible-AI governance.

You will lead the distributed query engines, streaming data, data models, and production LLM engineering, guiding trade-offs to senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in AI/ML engineering and scalable analytics platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Python and data engineering tooling.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Experience with large language models, model deployment, and governance.
• Proven ability to design and operate distributed analytics pipelines at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and AI strategy for device-telemetry analytics across 5G Home and Fios.
• Lead lakehouse-to-dashboard stack design, model integration, and governance.
• Guide platform decisions: on-prem vs cloud, capacity, HA, and cost modeling.
• Develop production LLM systems with accuracy, latency and cost controls.
• Deliver KPI-driven analytics and explain trade-offs to executives.
