Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to lead development of proofs of concept for Intelligence Community missions. You will prototype GenAI/LLMs, NLP, computer vision, and predictive analytics, ensuring concepts align with user workflows and security requirements.

You will transition sandboxed models into secure cloud environments, build CI/CD pipelines, containerize apps, and demonstrate capabilities to senior IC stakeholders, while maintaining clean code and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 9+ years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, or ability to upgrade from TS if SCI was held within last 3 years.
• Proficiency in Python and software engineering practices.
• Version control with Git.
• Unit testing.
• Clean code architectures.
• Hands-on experience developing ML models using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience handling structured and unstructured data.
• Preferred: experience deploying AI/ML models in secure, multi-tenant cloud environments or air-gapped networks.
• Preferred: familiarity with MLOps and orchestration platforms such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Apache Airflow, or Triton Inference Server.
• Preferred: experience using Streamlit or Gradio to build interactive demonstration interfaces.
• Preferred: familiarity with Intelligence Community missions.

Responsibilities

• Lead creation, prototyping, and deployment of AI/ML proofs of concept for IC mission use cases.
• Design, build, and deploy high-fidelity AI/ML prototypes involving GenAI/LLMs, NLP, CV, and predictive analytics.
• Collaborate with program leads and stakeholders to align prototypes with user workflows and technical requirements.
• Transition sandboxed POCs into secure multi-tenant cloud environments and air-gapped networks.
• Build automated CI/CD pipelines and containerize applications.
• Ensure compliance with federal software assurance and security standards.
• Divide technical execution across multiple active programs and overlapping deliverable timelines.
• Coordinate schedules with multiple Project Managers to meet high-priority milestones.
• Conduct live technical demonstrations for senior IC customers.
• Maintain clean, reusable codebases and architectural documentation.
