Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Core AI Infrastructure Platform in Seattle. You will design and promote a shared ecosystem for training and inference pipelines across hybrid-cloud environments, enabling engineers to deploy AI models safely at scale.

You will lead reliability, observability, and security practices, mentor engineers, and drive foundational tech stack across services. This role demands deep system design and production-grade engineering experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years software engineering experience.
• Strong Python production skills and service delivery.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tooling and best practices.
• Experience with secure, resilient production systems and cost-aware infra.
• Hands-on design of scalable, observable platforms for AI workloads.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design reliable, scalable AI/ML platforms and apps.
• end to end responsibility for hosting, inference, and services.
• Collaborate with AI infrastructure teams to deliver Foundation Services capabilities.
• Own non-functional requirements: observability, security, automation, cost control.
• Set standards and architectures for reliability and operability across services.
• Lead release milestones with product teams and participate in on-call rotations.
