Job summary

HARMAN International in Novi, MI invites an experienced AI/GenAI software engineer to drive production-grade AI solutions for Digital HR and HR Business Partners. You will blend full-stack AI development with HR data governance to solve employee lifecycle challenges.

You will architect, develop, and maintain systems with RAG, agentic workflows, and enterprise data integrations, collaborating with HR and IT stakeholders to deliver measurable value.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building production software or data products, including ML/GenAI.
• Strong understanding of LLMs, embeddings, RAG, agentic workflows, prompt engineering and model evaluation.
• Proficiency with Python, FastAPI, NumPy, Pandas, and React/TypeScript; API-first mindset.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, vector databases, and data-product design.
• Knowledge of privacy, data governance, and enterprise data practices.

Responsibilities

• Solve HR business problems with AI: partner with stakeholders to identify where AI can automate work or improve decisions.
• Act as a trusted AI consultant: advise on opportunities, risks, data readiness, governance, and integration options.
• Build AI-enabled HR solutions end to end: prototypes and production Copilots, policy assistants, case tools, analytics.
• Evaluate AI tools vendor-neutrally: assess capabilities across platforms and vendors without deep specialization in one system.
• Design RAG pipelines: retrieve HR policies, job profiles, skills taxonomies, content from HR data sources.
• Develop agentic workflows: translate HR processes into AI-enabled workflows with auditability.
• Create analytics and visualizations: AI-driven insights, heat maps, decision-support tools from HR data products.
• Implement enterprise-grade controls: guardrails, prompt management, model evaluation, latency controls, cost controls.
• Protect HR data: privacy, PII protection, RBAC, retention policies, governance built-in.
• Operate production solutions: containerize, CI/CD, monitor usage and reliability, cost optimization.
• Communicate clearly: explain AI concepts to non-technical HR stakeholders and gather feedback.
