Job summary

H2O.ai seeks a Principal AI Engineer in Dallas to design and ship end‑to‑end AI solutions for enterprise customers. You will lead customer engagements, architect agentic AI systems, and deploy LLM‑powered applications across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will mentor teams, collaborate with product and engineering, and ensure production‑grade reliability and safety in AI solutions. This role combines hands‑on engineering with strategic customer leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands‑on AI/ML engineering with production deployment.
• Experience leading technical delivery across complex enterprise engagements.
• Experience building LLM‑powered applications (RAG, agentic workflows, fine‑tuned models).
• Strong Python engineering skills and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn).
• Experience deploying AI services in cloud or on‑prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end technical engagements with enterprise customers as the senior delivery lead.
• Coordinate multi‑stream delivery with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
• Serve as primary technical escalation point for customer issues and risk management.
• Mentor junior ML engineers and solution engineers within engagements.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to surface feedback and resolve issues.
