Job summary

LexisNexis Reed Technology, based near Horsham, PA, seeks a hands-on Principal AI Engineer to design and implement production-grade AI solutions and grow toward an AI Architect role.

You will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, engineers, and government stakeholders to translate mission needs into secure, scalable AI capabilities, focusing on architecture standards, governance, and cross-team alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• Significant professional software engineering experience delivering production applications or platforms.
• Hands-on AI/ML development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, APIs, cloud services, data pipelines, and source control.
• Experience with generative AI patterns, LLMs, embeddings, and tool use.
• Understanding of secure development, IAM, observability, and cloud-native architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype AI-powered applications, services, and workflows.
• Translate mission requirements into technical AI solutions.
• Develop with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and related AI tech.
• Build reusable AI components, services, and APIs.
• Guide architecture patterns, guardrails, and reference architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and code reviews across teams.
