Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Principal Forward Deployed AI Engineer to own end-to-end AI delivery across multiple streams, leading mini-teams and partnering with stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers and analysts to design, build and scale production-grade agentic AI systems.

Remote work available from Georgia, with opportunities to work from home or in regional offices. The role requires leading teams, defining architectures, and driving evaluation and observability for AI solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering with leadership and end-to-end AI delivery.
• Expertise in agent architecture design and orchestration including RAG pipelines.
• Experience with Vertex AI Search, BigQuery and NL2SQL.
• Ability to integrate external APIs and data sources into agentic systems.
• Experience designing evaluation pipelines and LLM-as-judge methods.
• Knowledge of observability, telemetry, and data quality metrics.
• Understanding ETL, data transformation, and vectorization.
• Familiarity with chat and A2UI interaction patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end AI delivery across two streams, lead a mini-team per stream.
• Embed with business stakeholders and data engineers to refine requirements and journeys.
• Design agent architecture, harness, and connections to data sources.
• Create SME/end-user feedback loops for continuous agent improvement.
• Design evaluation pipelines and agent-evaluation processes.
• Design observability and telemetry layer.
• Decide optimal user journeys for chat vs A2UI.
• Influence ETL, transformation and vectorization decisions with data engineering.
