Infomatics is partnered with a large retailer that is hiring a Principal AI Data Scientist on a direct hire/FTE basis near Phoenix, AZ. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely. All applicants must be eligible and willing to be hired on W2.
You will lead various AI efforts involving computer vision, deep learning, and NLP, in addition to other machine learning model builds. You will work on large-scale projects to provide value to customers and will also be involved in building our internal R&D capabilities to maintain an edge in the analytics industry. You will lead some of the most strategic and complex problems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build and validate machine learning models for high risk/reward problems using large-scale data from multiple sources and methodologies.
- Apply machine learning techniques to create data-driven solutions for various business use cases.
- Develop programs utilizing existing libraries and methodologies.
- Interpret, communicate, and present analytic results to C-Level executives and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, business partners, project managers, and cross-functional teams to drive business value.
- Share AI best practices and stay informed about industry trends and innovations in data science.
- Lead projects with external partners and vendors to develop solutions that meet business needs and resolve issues.
- Contribute to the organization’s data strategy and roadmap.
- Embed and promote the latest AI methodologies within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative field with 5+ years of data science experience.
- Expertise in artificial intelligence, including natural language processing, computer vision, and deep learning, with the ability to leverage current AI tools and methodologies.
- Proficiency in machine learning, familiar with scikit-learn and techniques such as decision trees, gradient boosting, XGBoost, for regression, classification, or segmentation tasks.
- Programming expertise in Python and familiarity with cloud environments like AWS and Databricks.
- Experience working with large datasets from multiple sources.
- Ability to communicate complex analytics concepts to C-Level executives and other stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills with data scientists, data engineers, and external partners.
- Intellectual curiosity, passion for data, and a results-oriented mindset.
