Principal Data Scientist - Generative AI, Machine Learning, Python, R - Remote
This role involves leading data science projects, managing a team, and aligning data initiatives with business goals. The candidate will develop and implement data models, collaborate cross-functionally, and stay current with industry trends. Ensuring ethical data use and communicating complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders are essential. Job Responsibilities
- Research and develop AI and machine learning models, applying latest advancements to enhance existing models and create new methodologies.
- Deploy, monitor, and govern AI models in production, ensuring performance and compliance with regulations.
- Lead innovative projects testing new AI technologies within the organization.
- Analyze data to extract insights, identify patterns, and support strategic decisions.
- Design and train machine learning models using various algorithms, including deep learning and reinforcement learning.
- Develop agentic workflows utilizing AI agents for autonomous tasks to improve operational efficiency.
- Utilize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques to enhance language model performance.
- Fine-tune pre-trained models for specific applications, ensuring relevance and performance.
- Prepare and clean data to ensure high-quality inputs for modeling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.
- Create documentation and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists.
- Partner with business and technology teams to develop models that improve healthcare metrics like Star ratings and care gaps.
- Present analytical insights clearly and manage analytical project delivery.
- Identify data and technology solutions aligned with business needs.
- Leverage various tools and techniques to extract insights from industry trends.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a data scientist, preferably in healthcare.
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Proficiency in Python and R, with experience in TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience with agentic workflows and RAG techniques.
- Expertise in model fine-tuning and data visualization tools.
- Experience with SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or additional experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, Azure AI Studio.
- Familiarity with NLP and computer vision techniques.
