Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources, LLC is seeking a Principal IT Architect to lead enterprise architectures for NEET Transmission and NEER Development. The role focuses on AI-first modernization, scalable reference architectures, and governance across cloud, data, and security domains.

You will drive end-to-end architecture for ML/AI solutions, mentor teams, and collaborate with cybersecurity, data governance, and delivery teams to realize AI-enabled outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in information technology, software engineering, solution architecture, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience leading architecture for complex enterprise applications or modernization programs.
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform IaaS.
• Experience designing secure, resilient, scalable cloud or hybrid-cloud architectures.
• Hands-on experience delivering production-grade ML/AI solutions in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Define current-state, target-state, and transition architectures for the technology portfolio.
• Develop modernization roadmaps to improve scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Lead architecture for AI/ML and generative AI solutions from prototyping to production.
• Provide guidance for AWS and/or Google Cloud infrastructure architectures, including security and cost optimization.
• Establish reusable reference architectures, patterns, and technical standards.
• Mentor developers and engineering teams; oversee vendors and delivery partners.
