Job summary

Iron EagleX is seeking a Principal Agentic AI Full Stack Software Engineer to support our AI team in Crystal City, VA. This role will design, deploy, and sustain critical components of our AI analytics stack, including analytic frontends, production APIs, interfaces between AI workflow components, and the underlying data layer.

You will build AI-enabled web applications and dashboards, translate ML concepts into reliable software, and deliver features that support mission outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable Python code.
• Experience building AI-enabled web applications with Streamlit or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies, containerization, RESTful APIs, and UI development.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable backend solutions using Python frameworks.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Proficiency with Docker; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Git-based version control and collaborative workflows.
• Hands-on experience with full stack development and SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Develop clean, maintainable Python code and adhere to standards.
• Lead design and implementation of AI-enabled web applications and analytics (Streamlit/React).
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into apps, including prompting and RAG.
• Design and develop APIs (FastAPI) for system communication.

• Work with PostgreSQL/MySQL to ensure data integrity and performance.

M EANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Principal Agentic AI Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be a core member of the AI team responsible for prototyping, building, and delivering critical data analytics capabilities. You will help translate emerging AI and machine learning concepts into reliable, user-focused software solutions that support mission outcomes.

JOB DUTIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)

• Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of AI-enabled web applications and analytics usingStreamlit, React, or similar technologies.
• Integrate modern AI and large language model capabilities into applications and workflows, including prompting, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation(RAG), and related patterns.
• Design, develop, and integrate APIs, includingFastAPI-based services, to enable seamless communication between systems.
• Build andmaintainuser interfaces that make complex AI, data, and analytics capabilities accessible to end users.
• Establish andmaintainCI/CD pipelines and container-based deployments using tools such as Docker to support repeatable builds and reliable releases.
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL to ensure data integrity, performance, and efficiency.
• Implement andmaintainversion control using Git to streamline collaboration and code management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, develop, test, and deliver new features.
• Contribute to all stages of the software development life cycle, from concept and design through testing, deployment, and sustainment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Proficiencyin writing clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code.
• Experience building AI-enabled web applications, analytic dashboards, or user workflows usingStreamlitor similar technologies.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience developing modern front-end applications using React.
• Hands-on experience designing or developing LLM-powered agentic workflows that use tool calling, structured outputs, task planning, and multi-step execution.
• Familiarity with component-based UI development, state management, and reusable front-end design patterns.
• Experience integrating React-based frontends with RESTful APIs or Python-based backend services.
• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, data analytics, or mission-focused software applications.
• Familiarity with cloud-native application development,DevSecOpspractices, or secure software delivery environments.
• Experience implementing reliable AI workflows with validation, error handling, retries, logging, and fallback strategies.
• Understanding ofMLOpsconcepts, including model registry/versioning, reproducible environments, and CI/CD for ML-enabled systems.

The likely salary range for this position is $142,800 - $193,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
