Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Lead Acoustical Design Engineer to influence acoustics for AWS data center mechanical design, construction, operations and maintenance. You will define, design, document, and coordinate sound mitigation features across a global data center fleet.

You will lead prescriptive and performance-based design elements, ensure compliance with local ordinances, and advance acoustical design standards with internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to data centers
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

• Drive improvement of acoustic design standards and project approaches across the organization
• Review concept designs and designs in progress for compliance with acoustic standards and local codes
• Provide high quality acoustic engineering advice on projects worldwide with global teams
• Coordinate acoustical mitigation with construction, commissioning and risk teams
• Prepare construction documents and ensure AHJ approvals as needed
• Travel up to 25% will be required
• Oversee and review design work as needed
