Amentum has an opening in our Operations Accounting Group for a Principal Accountant. This position will be responsible for domestic and/or international contracts.

Seeking an intelligent, assertive, quick-thinking, broad-view and detail-oriented problem solver who likes challenges, responsibility, teamwork, some autonomy, and potential for growth. We are looking for a true “A” player who is a thinker and a doer. The candidate must be adaptable to a growing environment and capable of balancing priorities. Preference for candidates with a government contracting background and cost accounting experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. US Citizenship is mandatory. This is a remote role, ideally for someone near our Fort Worth, TX office.

Responsibilities may include:

• Financial presentation for internal and external reporting, including revenue recognition, profit and loss, contract performance, and balance sheet analysis.
• Audit of financial data.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, SOX, and company policies.
• Support audits and interact with finance and management teams.
• Document procedures and ensure proper financial data flow.
• Project setup and maintenance in financial systems, reconciliations, revenue analysis, and project margin analysis.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate procedures and establish priorities.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
