Job summary

DePaul Cristo Rey High School seeks an experienced principal to serve as the chief academic, spiritual, and student-life leader. The role advances academic excellence, develops faculty and staff, and strengthens the school’s Catholic identity.

The Principal reports to the President/CEO and leads curriculum, instruction, college readiness, and student support while collaborating across departments to ensure a rigorous, faith-centered educational experience for over 327 students.

The Principal is the school’s chief academic, spiritual and student-life leader, responsible for advancing academic excellence, developing faculty and staff, fostering a strong and inclusive school culture, and ensuring that students receive the support and challenge they need to thrive.

Reporting to the President/CEO, the Principal provides vision and leadership for curriculum, instruction, student development & faith, college readiness, faculty performance, and the daily educational experience. The Principal leads collaboratively across departments, connecting academic priorities with the Corporate Work Study Program, college advising, student support, campus ministry, athletics, and other areas of school life.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be an experienced educator and thoughtful change leader who combines instructional expertise, strategic thinking, strong relationships, and a sense of humor. This individual will build on DPCR’s strengths while challenging traditional approaches when innovation can better serve students. Appropriate Ohio principal/administrator licensure or eligibility to obtain the required credential.

Substantial classroom teaching experience and a strong understanding of effective secondary instruction.

Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, supervising, or evaluating educators and professional teams.

A record of advancing student achievement, developing people, and building a positive school culture.

Demonstrated commitment to serving students from under-resourced communities.

Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to analyze data, establish priorities, and use evidence to guide decisions.

Demonstrated ability to lead change, collaborate across teams, and build trust with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred experience:

Bi-lingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
