LOCATION
This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to any Consumers Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan's lower Peninsula. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
The Principal Program Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete a project. The incumbent oversees multiple initiatives and works to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements. The Principal Program Engineer will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities aimed at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion. The Principal Program Engineer is responsible for the deliverables of the team and for overseeing the work of lower-level engineers and technicians.
The Gas Policy Engineer ensures Consumers Energy's compliance with new and revised gas regulations and supports gas pipeline safety through proactive planning and review. This role holds the authority to interpret regulations, determine implementation programs, and oversee their execution across the business.
