Job summary

Atlantic Health Strategies is recruiting a Primary Therapist for a full-time, on-site role in Willowbrook, IL. You will deliver individual and group therapy within a structured clinical setting, applying trauma-informed approaches and PTSD-focused care to a diverse client population.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Counseling or Psychology, with demonstrated experience in group facilitation and strong interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience providing individual and group counseling services.
• Proficiency in facilitating group therapy sessions and therapeutic discussions.
• Knowledge of PTSD care and trauma-informed treatment approaches.
• Familiarity with medical records management and ICD-9 coding.
• Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and address their distinct clinical needs.
• Sensitivity and understanding of gender issues as they arise in a counseling context.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with a diverse client population.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and guide meaningful therapeutic discussions.
• Apply knowledge of PTSD care and trauma-informed frameworks across a diverse client population.
• Support individuals with developmental disabilities with awareness of their distinct clinical needs.
• Approach gender-related concerns in counseling with sensitivity, competence, and care.
• Manage clinical documentation accurately, including familiarity with ICD coding and electronic medical records.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support continuity and quality of care.
