Job summary

River City Recovery in Columbus, GA is seeking a full-time Primary Therapist to provide direct clinical services to adults in intensive outpatient or similar levels of care. You will conduct biopsychosocial assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.

You will coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, monitor client progress, maintain clinical documentation, and support crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.

Qualifications

Role Description The Primary Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, GA, responsible for providing direct clinical services to adults in intensive outpatient or similar levels of care. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary team members. The therapist will monitor client progress, adjust interventions as needed, maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, and support crisis intervention and safety planning when required. The role also involves collaborating with families and community resources, participating in case reviews and staff meetings, and contributing to a supportive, recovery-focused environment.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Treatment Planning and Case Management to develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care.
• Candidates should possess Social Work and Chemical Dependency skills to address substance use and psychosocial needs in a holistic manner.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Dual Diagnosis to support clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Relevant licensure or eligibility (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LICSW, or equivalent) and a master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience providing individual and group therapy in addiction or mental health settings, including familiarity with evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
