Job summary

Wellbrook Recovery in Chardon, OH, is seeking a Primary Therapist to deliver high-quality clinical services across residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care. You will provide individual therapy, lead groups, complete psychosocial assessments, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support clients in their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
• Licensed or license-eligible in Ohio (e.g., LISW, LPCC, IMFT, or equivalent).
• Experience in substance use or dual diagnosis treatment settings preferred.
• Knowledge of ASAM criteria, DSM-5, and trauma-informed care.
• Strong group facilitation and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to a client-centered, recovery-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial clinical assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations upon admission.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the clinical team.
• Provide weekly individual therapy sessions (frequency may vary by level of care).
• Facilitate daily or weekly process and psychoeducational groups.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other providers.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and discharge planning.
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed during escalations.
• Maintain communication with families and outside providers with consent.
• Support a therapeutic environment prioritizing safety, dignity, and healing.

Position Summary:

The Primary Therapist is a crucial member of our treatment team, responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services to clients across all levels of care. As a Primary Therapist at Wellbrook Recovery, you will provide individual therapy, facilitate group therapy, conduct psychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support clients through their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial clinical assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations upon admission
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the clinical team
• Provide weekly individual therapy sessions (frequency may vary by level of care)
• Facilitate daily or weekly process and psychoeducational groups
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with organizational, state, and licensing standards
• Coordinate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other providers to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, case consultations, and discharge planning
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, including during psychiatric or medical escalations
• Maintain communication with families and outside providers, as appropriate, and with consent
• Support a therapeutic environment that prioritizes safety, dignity, and healing
• Uphold ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality at all times

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (required)
• Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Ohio (e.g., LISW, LPCC, IMFT, or equivalent)
• Experience working in substance use and/or dual diagnosis treatment settings preferred
