Morrison Products, Inc. is seeking a press operator to set up presses, install large tooling, and adjust feeding equipment using manual or powered hand tools. The role includes equipment lubrication, safety guarding, and routine cleaning of the press.
You will inspect parts using gauges and micrometers, perform minor repairs, operate a shear and hand-fed press, and report issues to supervision. This is a full-time on-site position at our Indiana facility.
Sets up presses, installs specified large heavy tooling, makes adjustments, sets material feeding equipment using manual or powered hand tools as needed. Adjusts safety guards as required.
Operates a press, feeds material, removes work and scrap, loads and unloads, trucks material using manual and/or powered material handling equipment, hoists and cranes. Returns tools to storage.
Inspects first piece to lead copy using fixed and variable gauges. Notifies supervisor to check same. Inspects own work thereafter using micrometer and fixed gauges.
Assist repairing on own press, making minor repairs such as replacement of springs, nuts and bolts. Lubricates and cleans press as directed.
Set up and operates shear.
Set up and operate large hand fed press and flattener.
Reports problems to Supervisor.
