Advanced Digital Cable Inc. is seeking an Extruder Operator to manage high-tech production lines and ensure quality. This role requires precision, adherence to safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will oversee extrusion operations, calibrate heat zones, and maintain 100% traceability of products. The position offers full-time hours across multiple shifts with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Operate extrusion lines (up to 3") and winding equipment.
  • Control heat zones (4-8) and program inkjet coding.
  • Maintain equipment according to specs and safety rules.
  • Perform diameter and wall thickness tests with calipers.
  • Ensure 100% traceability by matching labels to Traveler records.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout during setup and maintenance.
  • Handle final packaging, palletizing, and production logs.

Job Summary:

Are you a "detail person" who loves working with complex machinery? We are looking for a Extruder Operator to run our high-tech production lines. This isn't just a manual labor job; it's a technical role where you are the final authority on quality. If you have a "measure twice, cut once" mentality and want to work in an environment where precision is the top priority, we want to talk to you.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Machine Operation & Setup
  • Expertly operate extrusion lines (up to 3") and manage high-capacity 72-inch winding equipment.
  • Control precise heat zones (4-8 zones) and program digital inkjet systems for product coding.
  • Maintain equipment integrity by following manufacturer specs and company safety standards.
Quality & Traceability (ISO 9001)
  • Perform precision testing using calipers to verify diameter, wall thickness, and conductor centering.
  • Master 100% traceability by matching every spool’s physical label to its digital "Traveler" record.
  • Ensure safety compliance by using spark boxes to detect and resolve insulation defects instantly.
Safety & Maintenance
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) during setup and maintenance.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and daily machine cleaning to ensure peak performance.
Logistics & Leadership
  • Manage final packaging including professional cable wrapping and standardized palletizing.
  • Mentor the team by cross-training Extrusion Assistants to hit production targets.
  • Maintain flawless records including production logs, labels, and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications:
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Comfortable using basic math and are willing to learn how to use precision tools like calipers to measure product thickness.
  • Comfortable using computers or touchscreens to enter data.
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly to keep track of production numbers and labels.
  • Track record of being on time and ready to work for every shift.
  • Eager to build new skills, ask questions when you're unsure, and take pride in the quality of your work.
  • Coachability to follow instructions well, listen to feedback, and are happy to help your teammates when needed.
  • Initiative to keep your workstation tidy and organized without being asked.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment and calm when production priorities change.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures.
Compensation & Benefits:

Starting Pay: $22 - 25.25 per hour

  • First Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm, Mon-Fri
  • Second Shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Mon-Fri (+ $2.50)
  • Third Shift: 11:00pm - 7:00am, Mon-Fri (+ $3.25)
