Job summary

South Coast Baptist College is seeking Relief Primary School Education Assistants to support Kindergarten to Primary classes in a Christ-centered school community. You will work with teachers and staff to deliver engaging learning experiences while fostering student wellbeing and independence.

The role emphasizes collaboration, positive behaviour support, and helping students flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually in a faith-based setting.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Education Support or equivalent qualification.
  • Current Working With Children Check.
  • Personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Active participation in a church or Christian community.
  • Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support across Kindergarten, Pre-Primary and Primary School.

As an Education Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting students as they learn, grow, and discover their God‑given potential. About the role

Relief Primary School Education Assistants provide valuable classroom support across Kindergarten, Pre‑Primary, and Primary School classes.

Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff, you will assist in delivering engaging learning experiences, supporting student wellbeing, encouraging positive behaviour, and helping students develop confidence and independence in their learning journey.

Key responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning activities within the classroom and small group settings
  • Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom materials
  • Encourage student engagement, participation, and positive learning behaviours
  • Support students with literacy, numeracy, and classroom learning activities
  • Assist with the implementation of Curriculum Adjustment Plans (CAPs)
  • Promote student wellbeing, independence, and confidence
  • Support effective classroom management and student self‑regulation
  • Assist with the supervision of students during classroom and school activities
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance student outcomes
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
